Hospice patient's last wish fulfilled
MANATEE- A Tidewell Hospice patient's last wish was to go parasailing, and that wish has finally been fulfilled.
70-year-old Kathleen Tripp lives in Manatee County and has Stage 4 Breast Cancer.
She knew her time was limited, so she began as a patient with Tidewell Hospice in March.
Those who know Tripp say she lives her life to the fullest, so it was no surprise when she said her final wish was parasailing.
Her dream came true near Anna Maria Island thanks to YOLO Adventures.
She wasn’t nervous at all and smiled ear to ear throughout the entire ride.
“She was all smiles, and things went really well. But like I said, you know, sometimes you think that you’re helping somebody and in return they end up helping you a little bit more and honestly that’s kind of what both of my staff got from Kathleen. They both called me on separate occasions that day and told me what a great experience that they had with her,” said partner at YOLO Parasailing, Kate Leary.
When the Tidewell Foundation Wishes Fund went to pay the bill, the parasailing company would not accept payment and picked up the tab themselves.
