Florida Ranked One of the Worse States for Mental Health Care
A Forbes reports ranks Florida as the 6th worse states for mental health care. The study shows that more than a third of Florida adults with a disability could not see a doctor in the past year because of cost.
Around 18% of adults in Florida with a mental illness are do not have insurance making it more difficult to receive treatment. Les Masterson, Forbes Insurance Advisor said if a therapist does not take insurance that you can always negotiate the price.
"If you have a doctor who is not accepting your insurance, ask them to give a discounted rates. A lot of times they will be willing." Masterson said.
