Response to a domestic battery call leaves a Sarasota Police officer bitten and bleeding, and the suspect in jail.

Body cam video shows the suspect violently resisting arrest. We do want to warn you, it is graphic.

Saturday on the 2800 block of Goodrich Avenue just after 5 pm, 36-yr-old Darryl Williams allegedly grabbed, pulled, and tossed a pregnant woman around at her home.

Williams was gone when officers arrived, but later, when they tried to arrest Williams inside the Express Grocery store, he bit one of the officer's hands and would not let go.

Officers were able to handcuff Williams, but he resisted being helped to his feet.

As they tried to put him in the back of the patrol car he spit on another officer.

Williams is in Jail without bond as he faces 4 charges including Aggravated Battery on a Pregnant Woman, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer for the bite, and battery on a law enforcement officer for the spit.

The officer’s names are being withheld under Marsy's Law. This case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
