PHILADELPHIA, PA (SNN-TV) - Following an oblique injury to Phillies slugger Nick Castellanos, a former Suncoast star has received his first MLB call-up.

On Sunday, the Phillies selected former Venice Indian and Florida Gator Dalton Guthrie's contract from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. A 2017 sixth-round draft pick, the 26-year-old son of 14-year big-leaguer Mark Guthrie, will make his first trip to the big leagues as a replacement on the active roster for Castellanos.

Phillies interim manager Rob Thomson had planned to start Guthrie in right field in Sunday's game against the Giants, but the rookie's flight hadn't landed in San Francisco at the time the Phillies chose to post their lineup. Guthrie could very well be in the lineup tonight at home against the Marlins.

Guthrie hit .302 with 10 home runs and 21 stolen bases in 374 plate appearances at Triple-A this season.
