CHARLOTTE COUNTY (SNN) - Charlotte County Public Safety celebrated the newest addition to their fire station on Monday.

They held a small push-in ceremony for the new Engine 16.

The 2021 E-one cyclone 2 pumper is capable of pumping 1,250 gallons a minute.

The truck has a 1,000 gallon tank.

The price tag was $700,000 - and that includes all of the equipment on board.

The fire truck "Push-In Ceremony" is a tradition that dates back to the late 1800s when horses pulled fire engines.

When a new machine arrived at a station, the firefighters would push the engine into the station to hitch the horses and ready it for the next emergency.
