According to the Herald-Tribune, eight in 10 residents of the city of North Port rated their quality of life good or excellent  in the latest  National Community Survey.  Sixty–one percent of that sample rated the quality of life good; 22% excellent and 1% poor.

Topics included growth, perceptions of community problems, safety from possible threats, interaction with city employees, and the quality and quantity of community events. Eighty nine percent  of respondents rated North Port Police excellent or good, while Fire and emergency medical services maintained a 98% favorable response rate.
