MANATEE COUNTY - The State College of Florida remains the only community college in the state to have eliminated tenure for their faculty.

The Herald-Tribune reports four years after the controversial decision SCF faculty formed a union, and have been in talks with SCF’s board to reinstate continuing contracts and a 6% pay increase.

SCF’s Union President Matt Thomas reports the board has countered with a 2% pay raise, and faculty is still not guaranteed tenure if they don’t meet the requirements.
