City will be documenting and memorializing all of its public art
SARASOTA - City commissioners have hired the Sarasota–based GS Resources to research and document all 84 pieces of the city's art collection.
The public art program started in Sarasota in 1989 and there are now 84 pieces in the city's public arts collection.
These pieces of art include the iconic unconditional surrenders statue and the iconic blue and red figures in Payne Park.
City officials are giving GS Resources $45,000 to research, photograph, document, and memorialize each piece in Sarasota's public art collection.
