Habitat for Humanity creating another Manatee neighborhood
MANATEE COUNTY - Habitat for Humanity is planning its fourth Manatee County neighborhood.
With the likely approval from the County Commission expected to come on December 5th, a new Samoset neighborhood, that will be called Poling Gardens, begins to come to fruition. The name is in recognition of the Poling family, who sold the property they once used for a tomato farm to the nonprofit home builder.
The subdivision is just north of Southeast High School and will be a cul-de-sac extension of 32nd Avenue East. Poling Gardens will have 16 single-story homes, and each of the families will be first -time home buyers who have contributed 300 to 400 hours of "sweat equity" in assisting the organization with construction.
Manatee County Habitat for Humanity has built 135 homes since 1994.
