93-year-old Tony Bennett bringing heart to Sarasota
SARASOTA - Tony Bennett may have left his heart in San Francisco, but his voice is coming to Sarasota next week. The legendary 93-year-old singer returns to play the Van Wezel Tuesday, December 3rd, along with his daughter Antonia Bennett. The show is at 8 o'clock with tickets going for $98 -$148.
Bennett's 7 decades of singing have earned him 19 Grammys, but at 93 he does not seem to be resting on his laurels. He rose to fame in the '50s with hits like, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco," "Rags to Riches" and "Because of You." He then captivated a new audience in the '90s, with his "MTV Unplugged" record winning an Album of the Year Grammy before teaming up with Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse to jump into another generation.
