Suncoast families are finding a lot to be grateful for this thanksgiving.

“Thanksgiving is a time where we are with our family, we think about food and we are very grateful for everything we have, but there are so many families, hundreds and hundreds of families who will be hungry this holiday and may not have that turkey dinner and mashed potatoes," said All Faiths Food Bank CEO, Sandra Frank.

To make sure Suncoast families are fed, All Faiths Food Bank will provide more than 120,000 pounds of turkey providing 40 thousand thanksgiving dinners to families in need.

“What we are hearing here today is just incredible gratitude and there’s an essence also of joy and a lot of people wishing each other a happy thanksgiving. It really is a time of gratitude for everybody here today," said Frank.

Dan Buckler is a lead volunteer for All Faith’s Food Bank and says the families he meets inspire him to come back year after year.

“I love giving in any way I can. To see the smiles on their faces, the hugs we get for doing this, I sometimes think I’m getting more out of this than the people getting the food," said Buckler. "There’s a lot of people that are hurting and they’re sometimes hidden. So it’s important for Sarasota to know that we encompass everybody here and need to help out our fellow community members.”

All Faiths Food Bank accepts donations year-round and Frank says they especially need them during the holiday season.
