The Sarasota County School District is already looking ahead , its looking for an interim leader. Superintendent Todd Bowden is expected to to step down in a week, he's signed the separation agreement ,and the School Board will need to name an immediate replacement.

According to the Herald-Tribune, Bowden's predecessor Lori White is one of the top choices, along with Bill Vogel, to be the interim superintendent. Both White and Vogel have long resumes as educational leaders and are respected, and  non controversial. Both are also not interested in a long–term position and well versed in labor negotiations.

According to the paper , White and Vogel both said Tuesday that they were interested in the position, White with the caveat that she would only come if there was a 5–0 vote to name her the interim.
