SARASOTA - The fifth annual Foodlosophy fundraiser hopes to put an end to pediatric cancer so parents never have to hear those dreaded four words.

Hosted Wednesday night by St Jude Children’s Hospital at Michael’s On East, hundreds attend to help raise funds for the children’s hospital. The event brings some of the best chefs on the Suncoast to prepare meals based on some of the patient’s favorite films.

"It’s a very unique event focused around culinary talents within our local community all in support of St. Jude Research Children’s Hospital, said Montana Taplinger. "The idea is getting local chefs together to create a five course meal focused around the food, making it an experience for our guest all while educating them more about all that the hospital does.”

Taplinger, Co-Chair of the event, says the fundraiser may highlight the chef culinary talents but it all about the children. "Our end goal is the end goal of St Jude which is to close the hospital doors meaning that caner is cured, so our end goal is to help support that mission both financially and also by educating people on what they do,” she said.

Taplinger says the annual fundraiser helps provide thousands of dollars for families who rely on St Jude not pay a penny for their children’s cancer treatment.
