Sarasota school board to hold special meeting
SARASOTA COUNTY - The Sarasota School Board has called a special meeting for November 5th to discuss sexual harassment allegations.
The Board will discuss the findings of an investigation into whether Superintendent Todd Bowden disregarded an administrative assistant's complaints that she was being harassed by Bowden's right-hand man, Chief Operating Officer Jeff Maultsby.
Board member Bridget Ziegler requested the special meeting after Sproat Workplace Investigations released their report last week that strongly concluded district leaders disregarded complaints from Cheraina Bonner that she was being sexually harassed and had even begun to fear for her safety.Investigators say Bowden had ample notice that Maultsby's behavior was creating a hostile work environment, but did not investigate further.
The meeting on November 5th will be open to the public, and there will be opportunity for public comment.
