ENGLEWOOD - Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, and Sarasota County is making plans to accommodate that growth.

The County has big plans for improving access for both pickleball and tennis courts in Englewood and is seeking public comment at a public meeting set for 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Englewood Sports Complex, 1300 S. River Road.

The overall impact will be to increase the number of tennis courts at Englewood Park and the number of pickleball courts at the Englewood Sports Complex. The county will seek input on a total of three projects.

In a boost to night soccer, the county plans to add LED lighting to fields three and four at Englewood Sports Complex, which means that all four soccer fields at the complex will have lights.
