'Claws' renewed for final season
BRADENTON - A popular show set in Bradenton has really sunk its teeth, er...claws, into the primetime TV schedule. Claws' has been renewed for fourth and final season.
TNT's dark comedy crime series follows the women of the fictional Nail Artisans of Manatee County salon. The series follows five manicurists who work at the fictional salon in Palmetto Plaza, and involve themselves in the underworld of crime. "Claws" features frequent local references to its Suncoast setting. However, the show primarily shoots in Louisiana due to Florida's lack of a film incentives program.
The series' creator Eliot Laurence told the Herald-Tribune that he got the idea for the show during a visit to Sarasota with his mother. The series did feature real footage from the Suncoast in Season 1, but it has since done away with local vantage points.
