SARASOTA- A woman is dead, and infant critically injured in a 4 car crash.

It happened around 8 pm Sunday Night on University Parkway; Three eastbound cars on university were turning left at the intersection at Lockwood Ridge Road.

That's when troopers say 34-year-old David Bunick ran a red light and crashed, then spun into a Lexus driven Michelle Baltaji. Both cars spun hooked together, untill Bunick's BMW struck a 4th car, a Chevy Malibu.

A 70 year old passenger in Batalji's car who was not wearing a seatbelt died, and an infant in a car seat was critically injured. State Trooper Kenn Watson says Bunick had been drinking.

"During our investigation," Watson said. "It does appear that he was intoxicated, and he did flee the scene. We were fortunate that the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office was able to apprehend him just a few blocks away from the scene, so not only is he now facing several charges including vehicular manslaughter, but also leaving the scene."

Trooper Watson says the Florida Highway Patrol wants to remind drivers to make a plan before going out if they will be drinking, and to always wear a seatbelt.
