SARASOTA - A voice that became famous nationwide over decades on the radio will soon visit Sarasota.

Robert Siegel, the recently retired host of NPR's "All Things Considered," will appear at Michael's on the Bay at Selby Gardens on Nov. 14 for local NPR station WUSF's Listen Up Luncheon. Tickets go on sale Monday, according to the Herald Tribune. He began hosting "All Things Considered," NPR's main news program, in 1987 and maintained that position until retiring last year.  Siegel's soothing voice made him into something of a pop cultural icon, playing his own voice on episodes of "The Simpsons."

Tickets for the luncheon cost $125 or $500 for a meet–and–greet with Siegel. For more information, visit  wusf.org/listenup or contact Kathy Jordan of WUSF at 941–359–4240 or  kathyj@wusf.org.
