MANATEE - This weeks encompass health student athlete of the week has helped guide Braden River's high school golf team to a 2-0 start. Logan Veith has been playing golf since he was seven years, before starting to play competitively towards the end of middle school.

The sport runs in the family, as Logan's dad Bryan, was a varsity starter on Riverview's golf team. In his last two matches, Logan shot scores of 35, and 38, while finishing top three individually in both meets. In the midst of his golf season, Logan also juggles four college level courses this semester at Braden River.

The Pirates home course is Waterlefe Golf and River Club. The boys will welcome Venice and Palmetto on Wednesday, before hosting the Braden River Invitational at Heritage Harbour on Saturday.

"THERE IS WATER ON EVERY HOLE, YOU CAN MAKE A BIG NUMBER ON EVERY HOLE BECAUSE OF THE TROUBLE. KNOWING THE COURSE AND WHAT CLUB TO HIT OFF THE TEE IS A BIG ADVANTAGE," Logan said.
