Suncoast rower Clark Dean has qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The Mens's Four of Clark Dean  of Sarasota,  Andrew Reed of Wayland, Mass,  Tom Dethlefs from Lawrenceville, N.J., and  Tom Peszek of Farmington Hills, Mich. qualified for the games at the Senior World Rowing Championships that are taking place in Linz, Austria.

The 19 year old  Dean, is stroking the boat, which came in third in the semi-finals this morning. That finish places them in the 'A' final Saturday morning. All boats making the  'A' final in this race earn a spot in the Olympic Games for their country.  Dean  is taking a year off from Harvard to do exactly what he just did, qualify for the Olympics. He began his career with Sarasota Crew and has won consecutive men's single titles at the Junior World Championships over the past two years.

Dean, however, is not the only Sarasota Crew alum in Austria, Rosa Kemp has also moved into the finals Saturday in the Lightweight Quad. You can watch both races live Saturday on the Olympic Channel or worldrowing.com.  The final for the Mens Four will be at 8:42am, the Lightweight Quad is at 9:52 am.
