Dog shot in Palmetto up for adoption
A Dog shot in Palmetto is now up for adoption. According to Manatee County Animal Services, Gabriel the pit bull terrier mix that was found in a Palmetto neighborhood with a gunshot wound to his face has healed and is ready to find a fur-ever home.
In May, residents in Palmetto reported seeing a dog with injuries to its mouth and paws. They called Animal Services, who located the pup.The frightened 57–pound animal initially resisted attempts to impound him because of its injuries, but was captured and treated.
Gabriel is estimated to be over a year old and his ideal home would be an adult only house with a person who can give him individualized attention he needs. Shelter staffers say He is an oversized puppy who loves to chew but will go on car rides with you no problem.
