SARASOTA - Bob and Crystal are newlyweds. They elected to have their big day at the Sarasota Farmer's Market. The Farmer's Market has been held in Sarasota for nearly 40 years and has never seen such a ceremony until Saturday. Crystal is a faithful employee of the weekly expo.

"You know, Florida is sort of a melting pot. There's a lot of us from a lot of different areas. I've been here for 25 years but what I find is a lot of us don't have a lot of relatives around here so at something like the farmer's market, there's more camaraderie that brings people together. So, it's more than a market," Executive Director of Farmer's Market Phil Pagano said.

Holding an event such as this is certainly a reminder of how far and diverse the Pagano-directed farmer's market has become over the years.

"The vendors took over about ten years ago and we've made it more for the community and we do so much for the community with non-profit and raising money for different charity events. It's turned into a great thing," Pagano said.
