BRADENTON -- LECOM Park, home of the Bradenton Marauders was the place to be this morning. You read that right, this morning.

The Marauders hosted the Clearwater Threshers in the middle game of a three game set. First pitch was 10:30 a.m, and the energy was through the roof. The reason, hundreds of campers filled the seats to watch Americas pastime. The kids scored a ticket to the game, as well as lunch at the ball field.

The in-game host for the Marauders, Ovidio Santiago, loves when this game rolls around.

"I love education day, it is a good way to get the kids in here and introduce them to the game of baseball. They bring a lot of energy and it makes me want to go the extra mile for them. My goal ultimately, is to get them to love their first experience and come back with their families. Marauders baseball is a fun time, it's a good time for everybody," Santiago said.

The Marauders still have seven home games remaining in July. The highlighted game is, "Back to School Night," on July 27th. The first 500 kids 12 and younger receive a backpack upon entry. The Marauders will also be celebrating Hispanic Heritage that same game, when fans will be treated to post-game fireworks. For tickets, visit
