Rollover crash into oncoming traffic sends three to the hospital
SARASOTA COUNTY - A rollover crash sent three people to the hospital in Sarasota Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Sarasota County Fire Department, the driver of a mini SUV was traveling South on Tuttle Avenue just after 3 p.m., when it crashed into a tree, rolling over several times into northbound lanes into oncoming traffic near 21st Street.
The mini SUV then crashed into two vehicles traveling northbound on Tuttle Ave, including Jeffrey Earl's wife on her way home from work. "I panicked right away and I was really scared and I started crying and I thought maybe she might be gone or something but I got here and thank god she wasn't. It's a miracle I guess. God saved her. I mean this car is...wow," he said.
All three victims were transported to Sarasota Memorial Hospital, two are currently in critical condition. It is unknown at this time what caused the mini SUV driver to lose control.
