Venice High School baseball team honors veterans
SARASOTA COUNTY - The Venice High School baseball team paid tribute for those who have served in the armed forces during Veterans Night at the ball park.
This has been a ritual at Venice since 2011 after the passing of Colonel Jack Dundas a diehard Venice baseball fan. The baseball team won the state championship in 2012 and dedicated the title to him. Dundas served in World War II, the Korean War, and Vietnam. The military awarded him seven purple hearts. All the veterans on hand received a warm ovation and all of us at SNN salute you for your brave service.
