Plans for 4,000 Parrish homes move forward. On Thursday, the Manatee Planning Commission unanimously agreed that developers Pat and John Neal's proposed Haval Farms subdivision is consistent with the county's comprehensive land use plan and land development codes. The suburb of over   38-hundred single–family and multi–family residences and 82,000 square feet of commercial space would be west of U.S. 301, north of Moccasin Wallow Road and  south of Buckeye Road.

According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune an analysis by the school district indicated current classroom capacity for the future suburb's children exists but they would have to be bused to Myakka City Elementary. A school site could be designated when a site plan is finalized and the county is looking at whether the Neals would need to include the land for it.
