Waste station to be built near Celery Fields
SARASOTA COUNTY - A waste transfer facility is going to be built near the Celery Fields in Sarasota County.
Local businessman Jim Gabbert plans to build a waste transfer station on over 4 acres he owns at the corner of Palmer Avenue and Porter Road adjacent to the Celery Fields. The project will include an eight–foot tall wall bordering the site, a two–story office building with parking and a waste transfer station, totaling 7,200 square feet.
Back in 2015, the Sarasota County Commission, approved a special exception to build a transfer station on Gabbert's land.
