75 year old Port Charlotte man killed by hit and run driver on I-75 in Sarasota
SARASOTA - State Troopers are looking for a hit and run driver who killed a 75 year old Port Charlotte man who was standing next to a parked SUV on I-75 Wednesday night.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2005 Ford truck was traveling south on I-75 in the center lane south of mile marker 202 at about 7:30 p.m.
The truck did not slow down as it approached a Honda CRV driven south in the center lane directly in front of the truck.
The truck collided with the Honda and then the truck traveled off the roadway and struck a Toyota RAV4 that was parked on the right shoulder.
Jorge Quezada was standing on the passenger side of the Toyota when he was struck and killed.
The Ford truck then struck a power box before leaving the scene.
The crash remains under investigation and troopers are seeking information on the driver of the Ford truck. Anyone with information is asked to call FHP at 239-938-1800.
