Discussion on Manatee County schools super delayed until February
MANATEE COUNTY - A discussion regarding the status of Manatee County interim superintendent Cynthia Saunders and her contract has been put on hold for a another month.
With allegations of graduation rate fraud hanging over Saunders' head, the board will discuss whether to offer her a long–term contract, but due to expected board member absences on several occasions the discussion will now take place at a February 12th workshop, after which the board will vote on the contract that same night.
Saunders wrote that she is disappointed — but not discouraged — by the seemingly sudden array of accusations alleged against her. Also mentioning she has conducted herself with utmost integrity in her decades of service.
