Venice notches another shutout, rolls to 11th straight to open season
VENICE - The Venice Indians girls soccer team opened the gates to Powell- Davis Stadium for the first time in 2019, disposing of the Charlotte Tarpons 7-0. A team ranked 9th in the Nation according to MaxPreps, and 3rd in the State of Florida, scored early and often. Rachel Dalton paced the Indians, providing a hat-trick, extending the teams winning streak, and their squeaky clean record to 11-0. Other goals scorers included: Maddy Krause, Mason Schilling and Kat Jordan. Tarpons goaltender, Ivy Gundmensun came up with some big saves in the first half, but the high powered Venice offense was too much to handle during the full 80 minutes.
