Venice prepares for St. Thomas Aquinas
In a game that saw 61 first half points, Venice was able to calm it down and knock off Bloomingdale, locking up the teams third consecutive Regional title.
“At half time we came in there and told the kids to settle down, let’s just go out there and play our game in the second half… And that is exactly what they did. We shut them out in the second half the offense was able to put up some points." Head coach John Peacock said.
Up next, a St. Thomas Aquinas squad that has outscored their opponents this postseason 163-20.
“Obviously the stakes get a little higher each week, this being the State semifinals and the winner getting the chance to play in the State finals. We have been practicing very hard and we are excited to play in it.” Peacock said.
“St. Thomas being this powerhouse that is something we have to get passed... We beat them last year so that should be no problem for us.” Senior Zack Sessa said.
Two teams ranked in the top 25 Nationally according to MaxPreps. The Indians are once again a game away from playing in the State Championship.
