Ride Sharing Apps making it more affordable to get to polls
It's estimated that over 15 million people were registered voters in 2016 but didn't vote because of transportation issues. So this election day ride sharing apps are making it more affordable to get to the polls.
Lyft is providing 50-percent off or up to $5 off rides across the country today. Consumers can get a discount code by entering their zip code on Lyft's partner website: Buzzfeed.
Uber is offering $10 off a single ride to the polls on the lowest cost under Uber Option available in your city. Get that discount by entering the code"VOTE2018" in the latest version of the Uber app.
Lime is also extending election day perks to its fleet of shared scooters and bikes, just use the code "LIME2VOTE2018" to get a free ride to polling locations, up to 30 minutes.
