Planned Parenthood encouraging residents to vote
With the midterm elections one day away Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida are getting proactive by urging residents to vote.
The nonpartisan group fielded in volunteers as they made phone calls for several hours to encourage people to vote.
Planned Parenthood says this is one of the most important elections of our lifetime.
Former Planned Parenthood president of Southwest and Central Florida Barbara Zdravecky says there is a lot of controversy and angst in the country right now.
She says she's reaching out to members of the community to remind them to vote this midterm election.
"It's a direct conversation we are actually we're able to get people on the phone you know recognizing ourselves as volunteers from Planned Parenthood and letting them know that we care about the election and we want them to participate as a citizen and have their voice be heard."
Barbara says they will be canvasing in the evening knocking on doors providing literature for residents.
