Smokable medical marijuana may be available soon

SARASOTA – A judge defied Gov. Rick Scott and the Republican–led Legislature yesterday and ordered state regulators to get ready for smokable medical marijuana
According to the Herald-Tribune Leon County Circuit Judge Karen Gievers lifted a legal stay prompted by the Scott administration’s appeal of her ruling last month that the state’s current smoke–free law was unconstitutional.
Lawyer John Morgan, who spearheaded the medical marijuana ballot measure overwhelmingly approved by voters in 2016, said Tuesday that he will ask the Florida Supreme Court to intervene if the state tries to again freeze Gievers’ order with another appeal.
Morgan said smoking marijuana is vital for one of the plaintiffs in the case, Manatee County’s Cathy Jordan, who at 68 suffers from Lou Gehrig’s Disease
