BRADENTON – State Senator Bill Galvano is catching heat from the NRA over a donation from gun control advocates.

Galvano from Bradenton received a big contribution from the prominent gun control organization, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund recently. The organization contributed $200,000 to Galvano’s political committee, Innovate Florida. Galvano, a Republican, is in line to become Senate president this year, but former NRA President Marion Hammer is not happy that Galvano is drawing support from a gun control group.

Galvano said he has made it clear that as Senate President he will continue to advocate for increased safety and security in our schools. In fact, in the wake of the Parkland school massacre in February, Galvano was instrumental in gun control measures being instituted.
