Two arrested in string of copper wire thefts
CHARLOTTE COUNTY – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office makes two arrests in a string of copper wire thefts targeting construction sites in the Port Charlotte area over the past week.
Twenty-eight-year-old Berry Scott, Jr. and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Logan Morris, were involved in four thefts, stealing over 670 feet of copper wire. Scott later exchanged the stolen wire at Allied Recycling for cash.
Scott is charged with dealing in stolen property and providing false ID. Morris is charged with violation of probation. Both are charged with burglary and grand theft.
