TAMPA – It has been a good run, but now USF President Judy Genshaft is stepping down.

Genshaft made the announcement Monday morning in a letter to the USF community. She will officially resign her post on July 1, 2019, which would be 20 years leading the university.

Genshaft became president in 2000 and enrollment has grown by 40 percent since then. The four–year graduation rate also tripled, and graduation rates are the same regardless of race, ethnicity or family income.

Under Genshaft’s tutelage, USF has become one of the nation’s top 30 public universities for research.

The selection process for a new president will be announced at a later date.
