SARASOTA – Roll Tide is the battle cry for the University of Alabama, and thanks to a Sarasota developer, the law school will be rolling in the dough.

The University of Alabama School of Law announced Thursday it had received $26.5 million from developer and attorney Hugh Culverhouse Jr. and that led to his name being emblazoned on the school. It is now the Hugh F. Culverhouse Jr. School of Law at The University of Alabama thanks to the largest donation in the school’s 187-year history.

Although, Culverhouse is a University of Florida graduate, and earned his law degree there, too, his mother attended Alabama and played on the Crimson Tide golf team. In a statement, he called the University of Alabama Law School one of the finest in the country.
