MANATEE COUNTY – One historical Manatee County school on Thursday gets national recognition.
Bradenton Herald says the Duette Elementary School has been added to the National Park Service’s National Register of Historic Places.
Duette Elementary is Florida’s last one teacher school and served the communities of Duette, Bunker Hill, and Albritton in East Manatee County from 1930 to 2016.
The building has a monthly open house on the second Saturday of each month for those interested in visiting the historical site.
Guided tours are given from 8 A.M. to noon.
