Lexington, Kentucky – A man believed to have robbed banks in Punta Gorda, Venice and Cape Coral is shot to death in Kentucky.
According to a Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office release, Tuesday night, Edward J. Reynolds, 57, was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals and local law enforcement officials in Scott county, Kentucky.
During the arrest shots were fired and Reynolds was killed.
Reynolds was wanted in Sarasota county for robbing a BB&T bank in Venice
He is also believed to have robbed two banks Punta Gorda and another in Cape Coral in Lee County.
A deputy, Jaime Morales with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office was injured during the shooting, which happened at a rest area near Lexington.
Morales was reportedly shot in the back and so far has had 2 surgeries.
