New interim leader for Manatee County schools

MANATEE COUNTY – The Manatee County School Board is looking for a new chief, and they believe they have found one, at least temporarily.

Current superintendent Diana Greene has taken the superintendent job in Duval County.

Her top deputy will most likely step into her role while the School Board searches for a replacement.

On Tuesday night the board voted to offer the current deputy superintendent, Cynthia Saunders, the interim school superintendent job.

Saunders said she wants to keep the district moving forward, and that includes the opening of three new schools next August.
