One dead, four injured after shooting at Bradenton bar

BRADENTON – One man is dead and four others are injured after a fight led to a shooting at a Bradenton bar overnight.

Manatee County deputies were called to the Tommy Knockers Bar on 14th Street West in Bradenton around 12:30 A.M. Sunday.

Responding deputies found four people at the scene who had been shot with a fifth gunshot victim showed up later at a local hospital for treatment.

According to investigators, Conde was at the bar drinking with at least one other man when a group of Hispanic men arrived. Deputies say the two groups got into a heated argument which then moved outside and turned into a fight.

As other people at the bar started leaving, deputies say one of the men in the second group started shooting.

That’s when deputies say Conde suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. The four other victims are expected to be okay.

Witnesses told deputies the shooting suspect then left the scene with two or three other men in a white 4-door car, possibly a Chevy Impala.

Gabriel Conde, who was set to turn 40 years old on Tuesday, was shot in the chest and pronounced dead.

Four other victims, Adlfo Garcia, Calvin D Lewis, Robert Wright, Fermin Vazquez, ranging in age from 18-29 years old, have been treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies describe the shooter as a bald Hispanic man about 5’8″. He was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jean shorts at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at (941) 747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS
