BRADENTON- Country fans line danced the night away one last time, as a long–standing Bradenton bar closed its doors.
After nearly thirty years, open three nights a week, co–owners of Joyland Country Music Night Club, Stephanie and Ricky Lambert retired.
Saturday night, was one last hoedown as the country bar reached capacity and long–time regulars danced til’ sunrise.
Big names like Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton, and Luke Bryan got their start at Joyland.
Stephanie Lambert said, “It’s a family. We have dancers from 18 to 85 in here and the same older people come in every week at the same time to line dance and that, right there, is the greatest gift.”
The couple plans to take their first vacation since opening and spend time with their three children and five grandchildren.
Lambert said the property is up for sale, and she hopes a new owner can continue the legacy.
