Three dead in two-vehicle collision in Port Charlotte


CHARLOTTE COUNTY – Three people are confirmed dead following a two-vehicle crash Tuesday, January 9.

It happened just before 5 P.M. at Gasparilla Road and Marathon Boulevard in Port Charlotte. According to a Florida Highway Patrol press release, an SUV and a pickup truck collided. There were no injuries reported to the driver of the pickup.

Eighty-year -old Alban Bianco of Maine and 73-year-old Rebecca Hlavsa of Port Charlotte were pronounced dead at the scene.

Eighty-two-year-old Raymond LaPointe of Michigan was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital as a trauma alert where he later died.
