An exhibition at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art showcases 40 years of photographs in America’s coal mining country. Builder Levy’s Appalachia USA is a series of 50 black and white photos from 1968 to 2009. The collection shows stories of coal miners and their families as well as the changes the area has experienced over time. Photographer Builder Levy says he continues learning stories of the people he photographed as time goes on. The exhibition will be on view now through September 13th.
